Son muchas las auditorías, asesorías y capacitaciones que tienen base en la norma ISO/IEC 27001. Tratar este tema es parte de nuestra rutina como casa consultora, y si bien se presentan situaciones muy puntuales, existen preguntas que se repiten en diferentes lugares y eventos. Por eso ponemos a tu alcance estos datos, cuanto más sepas, mejor. La idea es que juntos podamos cuidar la información importante de las empresas y hacerles frente a miles de amenazas existentes: malwares, virus, hackeos y demás.
¿La implementación de ISO/IEC 27001 corresponde solo a empresas de tecnología de información y comunicación (TIC)?
Al leer el texto podemos ver que el prólogo señala: “los requisitos establecidos en esta norma internacional son genéricos y aplicables a todas las organizaciones, cualquiera que sea su tipo, tamaño o naturaleza”. Además, establece que “la adopción de un sistema de gestión de seguridad de la información es una decisión estratégica”. De allí que podamos interpretar que las empresas pueden beneficiarse al implementar porque ellas se sustentan gracias a la información. Por ejemplo, si su compañía vende mochilas, va a necesitar que los clientes proporcionen cierta información para poder emitir las boletas. Las solicitudes y pedidos también conllevan la recaudación de datos. Por eso hay que definir qué información se maneja y a qué niveles debe protegerse. Estas previsiones pueden tomarse en el marco de la Ley de Protección de Datos Personales, cuya promulgación se hará próximamente y exigirá cumplimiento. Los datos tienen especial relevancia, por eso urge mantenerlos resguardados y disponibles
En ese sentido, en el texto de la norma se lee que “es importante que el sistema de gestión de seguridad de la información forme parte y esté integrado con los procesos de la organización y con la estructura de gestión global, y que la seguridad de la información se considere durante el diseño de procesos, de los sistemas de información y de los controles. Es de esperar que la implementación del sistema de gestión de seguridad de la información se ajuste a las necesidades de la organización”.
¿Las capacitaciones solo aplican al personal de las empresas que se dedican a las TIC?
No, todas las empresas que manejen datos personales de clientes, usuarios y demás partes interesadas necesitan capacitarse para hacer que la información cuente con tres propiedades: confiabilidad, disponibilidad e integridad. Los soportes físicos están migrando al mundo digital, que mas que un mundo, es todo un universo con características y lenguaje particular, que abre posibilidades infinitas a la comunicación e interacción, pero también a los riesgos. Por ello es tan relevante adquirir consciencia al respecto y tomar medidas antes de verse afectados por amenazas físicas o virtuales.
